Ok everyone!

This is Brett, the co-promoter of www.vacomicon.com and owner of www.brettscomicpile.com starting a completely fresh discourse on comic books and other rumblings in my head. Although I love comics, understand that this blog is being used by me and is primarily for my own twisted benefit. Feel free to reply, post, chat, etc. on this page.

Here are a few things I have noted recently:

1) Civil War. The comic experience. I haven't been this jazzed about a marvel comic since I read the first six issues of Exiles.
Um...actually...let's push it a bit farther back....I haven't enjoyed a Marvel comic thingee like this since...say...Erik Larsen's run on Amazing Spiderman! WOW! Can't believe I wrote that....but honestly...it's that good!

2) I think 2007 will be the year of comics 2 films and back. In the past few months, we have witnessed Superman Returns, X-men 3, My Super-ex girlfriend (not too bad, but definitely NOT for children), and "who wants to be a superhero?" on Sci-fi. I don't really have a television, so thanks to some good folks over at velocity comics for recommending it, I can catch reruns on the internet (yes...apple is letting you download episodes for like $2 each. cool!).

3) Conventions are exhausting! My itty-bitty comic book company, Brett's Comic Pile, has set up at many-a-show this year, and it has been whipping our behinds. Just after the last Richmond show, we zipped down to Charlotte for their annual event. After that it was Roanoke, and after Roanoke, it is anothe Richmond con! WOW!

4) Um...still rambling on here, but I did want to let you guys know a few other juicy bits of info. The first is that our August show will feature some dealers that very few people have seen before...they are travelling many a state to get to Richmond, so bring great expectations, and a full wallet, you will need it.

5) finally, we have been pondering what would happen if we had a show, say, twice the size of the one we have now? Hmm....wonder what that would look like in say...January 2007....hmmmm....
